Realise that two triangles have the same base length and same height. So their area is the same.

May I know the answer for (a) and (b)

Triangle ABD and BDC have the same height and same base length. The question has already given you the area of one of them. So you can find ABD easily.

As for b) , since EDC is smaller than BDC, the answer for b) has to be smaller than BDC's area.

Post your answers here and I'll let you know if you are correct or not

They have same base but height is different. May I know why the height is the same?

It is clearly stated in the question that BC is the height of triangles BDC and ABD

Omg you are right!

So why do you say the height is different? Did you mistake the slant height for the vertical height?

Yes and most importantly i didn’t read the question properly

Sorry. How do I know what is the length of the base or height?

If they have the same height and base length then their area is the ___?

So area of triangle BDC is 8cm² , then area of triangle ABD is __?

Is it necessary to know the height and base length to solve the question?
