To compare heights (or any length in one dimension), we need to use a length ratio comparison. This can be done by cube rooting the volume ratio. So we need to cube root 1.625 : 1 to get 1.1... : 1 as the length ratio before you find the height of the smaller backpack by dividing 80 by this 1.1... number.
To obtain the area ratio, we need to square the length ratio.
