square both sides of eqn,
y² = 4 + x
bring "4" to the other side,
y² - 4 = 4 + x - 4
y² - 4 = x
x = y² - 4
square both sides of eqn,
y² = 4 + x
bring "4" to the other side,
y² - 4 = 4 + x - 4
y² - 4 = x
x = y² - 4
