We simply add a column matrix of size 3 x 1 filled with 1s. This is because we wish to add the three numbers along the horizontal row together, but we cannot do so because the numbers are stuck in the 2 x 3 matrix. So the trick is to include this column matrix because multiplication by 1 does not affect the number but the matrix multiplication allows us to add the three numbers together.
