Let Lynn be 100u.
Mike is 20% less. So Mike = 80u

Mike 10% increase → increase by 8u
→ 88u

Lynn 20% decrease→ decrease by 20u
→ 80u

Difference now = 88u - 80u = 8u
8u = $400
1u = $400 ÷ 8 = $50

Mike's salary in the end = 88 x $50
= $4400

For before, you can draw a model with Mike as 80u and Lynn as 100u (don't have to draw 100 boxes, just one box and write 100u will do)

For after, draw Mike as 88u and Lynn as 80u
