Q1 to Q4 plus the practise now Q1 and Q2 are similar concepts. Q5 and Q6 requires even more difficult formulae.

You need to first determine correctly the quadrant that the angle is in. Because this determines whether sin, cos or tan is positive or negative. Then we draw up the triangle for the basic angle and find the third length by Pythagoras. Finally we call out the other two basic ratios and then from there evaluate the three new Trigo ratios (which is nothing more than the reciprocals of the first three ratios).

Which is why there is the famous abbreviation ASTC. This represents ‘all positive, sin positive, cos positive, tan positive’ for each of the four quadrants in order (so in second quadrant, it’s sin positive, cos negative and tan negative for example).
