Let number of ties = 4u , wallets = 1u

4u ties cost $184 more than 1u wallets.

So $840 - $184 = $656

$656 ÷ 2 = $328

The wallets cost $328.

Cost of 4u ties = $328 + $184 = $512

So cost of 1u ties = $512 ÷ 4 = $128

We compare the costs of 1u wallets and 1u ties.

Difference in price = $328 - $128
= $200

Since one wallet costs $50 more than a tie,

$200 ÷ $50 = 4

So 4 wallets cost $200 more than 4 ties. This also tells you that 4 wallets were bought.
