| Ratio
One Answer Below
Anyone can contribute an answer, even non-tutors.
If the shaded area of A is 3/5, and the shaded area of B is 5/8, find the ratio of the area of A to area of B.
Answer is 9:10 but I can’t seem to get it
Unshaded area of B = 3/8
Unshaded area of A = Unshaded area of B
2/5 of A = 3/8 of B
Since they are the same area, make the numerator the same.
2/5 = 6/15
3/8 = 6/16
So from this you can infer that tota area of A = 15 units, total area of B = 16 units.
Ratio = 15 : 16
The ratio of 9 : 10 refers to the ratio of shaded area of A to shaded area of B
3/5 = 9/15
5/8 = 10/16
