We need to form an equation in x and k or in y and k.

We then use the "two distinct roots" condition to formulate the discriminant equation b2 - 4ac > 0.

We will then need to solve inequalities in quadratic form.

Remember that multiplying or dividing an entire inequality by a negative number changes the inequality sign.
