Aaron increased his savings by 80%

So 100% → 180%
180% → $630
1% → $630 ÷ 180 = $3.50
100% → $3.50 x 100 = $350

Brian decreased his savings by 50%

So 100% → 50%
50% → $630
So 100% → $630 x 2 = $1260

Notice that when Calvin gave David 1/5 of his savings, their total amount of $ stays unchanged. so their total is $630 x 2 = $1260

Total savings the four children had at first
= $1260 + $1260 + $350
=$2870
