You will end up with 3a + 5b + ab√5 + 3√5
= (3a + 5b) + (ab + 3)√5

Compare the coefficients.

3a + 5b = 26
ab + 3 = 11

We need to expand everything and compare terms. You will face two equations involving a and b, of which you must solve them simultaneously.
