So $12 = ½ of remainder
Remainder = $12 x 2 = $24
Since she spent ¾ of her money on textbooks, ¼ of her money is left.
So $24 = ¼ of her money
¾ of her money = $24 x 3 = $72
Amount she spent = $72 + $24 = $96
So $12 = ½ of remainder
