If 40% are tables, then 60% are chairs

150 → 100%
10% → 150 ÷ 10 = 15
60% → 15 x 6 = 90
(Or 60% = 150 x 60/100 = 90)

So there are 90 chairs.

Notice that number of chairs did not change since only tables were added.

Percentage of chairs after addition of more tables= 100% - 64% = 36%

36% = 90
100% = 90 x 100/36 = 250
(Or 1% = 90 ÷ 36 = 2.5
100% = 2.5 x 100 = 250)

So there are 250 chairs and tables now.

Number of tables added
= 250 - 150
= 100
