Thank you for the answer. I don’t understand why we need to assume all plates = cost of bowls. 70/2 x 5, please help, thank you

This is so that we can calculate the surplus that is base on the extra 3 dollars from each plate! Because the number of plates and bowls are different, the 210 stem from the difference in price and the number of plates purchase as well! Hence we want to eliminate that so that we can calculate the number of plates ^^ (plus this is also given so the intuition is there as well) hope this helps? :)

70/2 is because of the ratio! Because plates to bowls are 5:2! So 70 u can take it as 2 units then plates have 5 units :)
