LCM = 80 = 2⁴ x 5

HCF = 8 = 2³

Both numbers must contain the HCF.

Since LCM has a 5, one of the numbers has a factor 5 but the other doesn't.

Notice that the LCM also has a 2⁴. So one of the numbers must have a 2⁴ but the other doesn't.

possible numbers :

1st number : 2⁴ = 16
2nd number : 2³ x 5 = 40

1st number : 2³ = 8
2nd number : 2⁴ x 5 = 80
