We let the total number of English books be 3 units and total number of Science books be 9 units.

From the question information, we can find out that ⅔ of English books and 7/9 of Science books were left.

So that's 2 units of English books and 7 units of Science books.

In the end, there are 350 more English books than Science books.

So this means that in terms of number of books, 2 units of English books = 7 units of Science books + 350

so 1 unit of English books = 3½ units of Science books + 175

Then 3 units of English books = 10½ units
of Science books + 525

We know total = 915 books

915 = 3 units of English books + 9 units of Science books

Since 3 units of English books = 10½ units
of Science books + 525 ,

915 = 10½ units of Science books + 525 + 9 units of Science books

915 = 19½ units of Science books + 525

390 = 19½ units of Science books

1 unit of Science books = 390 ÷ 19½
= 20

Number of English books removed
= 1 unit
= 3½ units of Science books + 175
= 3½ x 20 + 175
= 70 + 175
= 245
