Let T be the price of the table.
Let C be the price of one chair.

Kenny paid $3685 and received $185 change.

Therefore, the table and 5 chairs cost $3685 - $185 = $3500.

We also know that the table cost the same as 2 chairs.

T = 2C

T + 5C = $3500

Substitute:

2C + 5C = $3500

7C = $3500

Simplify:

C = $500

Hence, the cost of the table is $500 * 2 = $1000.
