Let M represent the number of mangoes at first.

Let P represent the number of papayas at first.

We know that M + P = 65.

After 3/4 of M and 3/5 of P were gone, 20 fruits were left.

So, 1/4 M + 2/5 P = 20.

Multiply the equation by 4:

M + 8/5 P = 80

Because M + P = 65:

3/5 P = 15

Multiply 5/3 on both sides:

P = 25
