There are 12 spaces in between Lamp post A and Lamp post B.
Imagine if there was only 1 space in between. There would be no lamp posts in between.
If there was 2 spaces in between, there would be 1 lamp post in between.
Hence, there are 11 lamp posts between Lamp post A and Lamp post B.
There are 12 spaces in between Lamp post A and Lamp post B.
