Let A represent Alex's money.
Let P represent Paul's money.
Let C represent Collin's money.

The ratio of A to P is 7 : 10.

The ratio of P to C is 8 : 10.

The P in both ratios are the same, so:

The ratio of A to P is 28 : 40, and the ratio of P to C is 40 : 50.

Therefore, the ratio of A to P to C = 28 : 40: 50.

We know that A + C = $1755.

Since 78u = $1755, 118u = $2655.

The 3 boys have a total of $2655.
