= 5 units - 1 unit
= 4 units
Unshaded part of triangle
= 3 units - 1 unit
= 2 units
Total area of figure
= Unshaded part of triangle + unshaded part of rectangle + shaded area
= 2 units + 4 units + 1 unit
= 7 units
7 units = 126 cm²
1 unit = 126 cm² ÷ 7
= 18 cm²
Area of triangle
= 3 units
= 18 cm² x 3
= 54 cm²
= 5 units - 1 unit
= 4 units
Unshaded part of triangle
= 3 units - 1 unit
= 2 units
Total area of figure
= Unshaded part of triangle + unshaded part of rectangle + shaded area
= 2 units + 4 units + 1 unit
