The important thing to note in this question is that the total number of stamps doesn't change

Before :

Gary stamps = 3 units
Henry = 4 units

Total = 7 units = 140 stamps
1 unit = 140 stamps ÷ 7 = 20 stamps

So number of stamps Gary had
= 20 x 3
= 60 stamps

After:

Gary stamps = 1 unit
Henry = 3 units

Total = 4 units = 140 stamps
1 unit = 140 stamps ÷ 4 = 35 stamps

Number of stamps Gary now has
= 35 stamps

Number of stamps Gary gave Henry
= 60 - 35
= 25
