As long as the first digit starts with a 6 or 9 and ends with an even number (except 6 if 6 was already used as the first digit), the number you have chosen is more than 6 000 000.

For completeness,

(a) 1 023 596
(b) 9 653 201
(c) x xx9 5xx
(d) 2 xxx xxx OR 3 xxx xxx
(e) As I explained in my other post

In other words, for part (a), they are not asking you to pick out the even numbers only. They are asking you to use all 7 numbers to form an even number. We only need the last digit to be an even number and the first digit to not be 0. Then from there we work out the smallest possible even number.

Part (b) is very similar.

Part (a) goes something like this.

You can use a similar idea to do parts (b) and (e) on your own.

Parts (c) and (d) have nothing to do with this and are the easier questions.
