Realise that A and B occupies half the rectangle. C and D also occupies half the rectangle.

So A + B = C + D

Since A + B = 10 units,
C + D also = 10 units.

Therefore, make the ratio for C:D such that the total also becomes 10 units.

Ratio of C : D
= 3 : 2 = 6 : 4

Total = 6+4 = 10 units

Now, difference of A and D = 24 cm²
Difference = 7 units - 4 units = 3 units

So 3 units = 24 cm²

1 unit = 8 cm²

It is easy to find the area of the rectangle from here.
