4 workers , 80 chairs, 12 days

24 workers → 6 times the manpower

So 80 chairs x 6 = 480 chairs in 12 days

To manufacture 300 chairs,

300 ÷ 480 = 5/8

so 5/8 of 12 days = 7.5 days is needed.

The three cases you need to know:

1. Same amount of time means more workers can produce more chairs.

2. Same number of workers means more time is needed to produce more chairs.

3. Same number of chairs produced means more workers need less time altogether.
