5 + 8x - 4x²

= - (4x² - 8x - 5)
= - ( (2x)² - 2(2x)(2) + 2² - 9)

= - ( (2x - 2)² - 9)

I forgot to mention that to find t in terms of x (somewhere after my integral) that you can sub in x = 1 when t = 0 to find the new constant.
