Your second model is wrong.

After giving,

Pebbles that Yong has = 1u + 26 - 55
= 1u - 29

Pebbles that Fitria has = 1u + 55

Difference = 84 pebbles

Since Fitria has 3 times as many pebbles now, this means Fitria has 2 times more pebbles = 84

84 ÷ 2 = 42
42 x 3 = 126

Fitria has 126 pebbles now.

126 - 55 = 71

Fitria had 71 pebbles at first.

Hi, thank you for helping me to solve this question. I am afraid I don't understand why Fitria has two times as many pebbles in the second part of the solution. Can I trouble you to explain this part please?

Fitria doesn't have 2 times as many. Fitria has 2 times more than Yong. '2 times as many' and '2 times more' are different.

Think of it this way:

Pebbles Yong now has → 1 part.

Fitria now has 3 times as many pebbles as Yong → 3 parts

Difference = 2 parts

So Fitria now has 2 times more pebbles than Yong
