Assume all answers were incorrect.

Score = 20 x -4 = -80

But the actual score is 40.

Assume now that 1 question was actually correctly answered.

4 points that are deducted for that question must be given back → +4 to the score.

6 points must be awarded for this correct answer → +6 to the score.

6 + 4 = 10
So 10 marks are added per answer that is correct.

40 - (-80) = 40 + 80 = 120

120 points are added.

120 ÷ 10 = 12

12 questions were correctly answered.
