(r + ½)⁴ - (r - ½)⁴
= ( (r+½)² + (r-½)² ) x ( (r+½)² - (r-½)² )
= ( r² + r + ¼ + r² - r + ¼) x (r² + r + ¼ - (r² - r + ¼) )
= (2r² + ½) (2r)
= 4r³ + r (verified)
Use Method of Difference to solve the summation.
= ( (r+½)² + (r-½)² ) x ( (r+½)² - (r-½)² )
= ( r² + r + ¼ + r² - r + ¼) x (r² + r + ¼ - (r² - r + ¼) )
= (2r² + ½) (2r)
= 4r³ + r (verified)
