One Answer Below
Anyone can contribute an answer, even non-tutors.
how do i solve this qn?
(Note that PX and XQ are radii of the respective circles)
Extend the line RQ by 3cm and join its end to P. Let this new point be A (or any alphabet you want). You get a rectangle PARS.
Triangle PAQ is right angled. So use Pythagoras Theorem to find PA , and trigo to find angle PQA. From this you can find angle PQR.
b) note that PA = SR. So you can find the area of the trapezium.
Knowing the angle properties of a trapezium, use angle PQA to find angle SQR.
Then, use arc of circle formula to find the areas of the sector of the respective circles.
Subtract accordingly to get your answer.
