the question doesnt allow a calculator so i think your method wouldnt work!
Yah I did not use a calculator haha. But yah, rationalizing first is better
Working with large numbers really depends on the individuals comfort level in math. Do bear in mind that students typically prefer simple to follow steps, so the approach by Venus is preferred and more easily understood by weaker students.
