The answer is -1 but no matter how I do it, I'm still not able to get that answer

You're right but you didn't continue because you expect the table to have -1 value but it turns out to be 1..Right?..The two values on the table are infact the products(factorised forms of the equation)..There are not the values of x.

Wait,you forgot to add a negative sign for 4 on the table..

Instead of putting -4 for your cross factorisation, you put 4 and 4x+X does not give you -3x. -4x plus x with give you -3x
