If you have learnt algebra, you can use that method too! I'm not sure if your teacher has taught you algebra yet; so here's the "Primary School" method. (No pun intended.) Hope this helps! :)
For the below average part, the average of the marks that the 4 students scored is 68 which was below 71, the average for the class. The average of the class increased to 73.
