Every minute , Steven will travel 30m more than Tom.

When Steven reached the end of the 6.5km track, Tom was 600m behind him. This means he travelled 600m more than Tom.

600m ÷ 30m/min = 20 min
This means both of them cycled for 20 min.

Since Steven travelled 600m more, distance Tom cycled
= 6.5km - 600m
= 6500m - 600m
= 5900m

Tom's speed = distance travelled ÷ time taken

= 5900m ÷ 20min
= 295m/min
