Smallest factor is always 1 and largest factor is always the number itself, thus smaller number is 1+8=9. As for the greater number, first common mulitple is 36 so the largest possible value for the larger number is 36.
Factors of 36: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36
The larger number also cannot be a multiple of 9 (i.e cannot be 18 since first common multiple will be 18 in this case) hence, the larger number can only be 12
