These overlapping questions are common, always take note of how the figure will look like if you separate the familiar figures.

Step 1. Find length of square (also the radius of the quadrant)
Step 2. Find area of two quadrants (makes one semi circle)
Step 3. Subtract the overlapping area from the sum of the two quadrants since one is covered by the other
