a) Number of marbles each girl had at the start = 2060 ÷ 2
= 1030
b) After giving some marbles to Theresa,
Theresa has 4 times as many marbles as Sandy.
So Theresa = 4u, Sandy = 1u
Total = 5u = 2060 marbles
1u = 2060 ÷ 5 = 412
So Sandy has 412 marbles left.
Number of marbles she gave to Theresa
= 1030 - 412
= 618
= 1030
b) After giving some marbles to Theresa,
Theresa has 4 times as many marbles as Sandy.
So Theresa = 4u, Sandy = 1u

1u = 2060 ÷ 5 = 412
So Sandy has 412 marbles left.
