Lcm of 4 n 6 is 12.
Fiona spent 2/12.
Left 10/12.

Hence We can say
At first fiona had 12 units
Spent 2 units
Left 10 units

Ethan had $36 more
At first ethan had 12 units +36
He spent 1/4 meaning 3units and $9
Left 9 units +$27

After spending
9 units +27 = 10 units + 23
1 unit = $4
Solve accordingly.

You can use 2 variables
Let X be the amount of money Ethan has
Let Y be the amount of money Fiona has
It will be easier to solve in that way.
