1) Given that:
6sweets + 10jellies = 6.80

2) So let's halve of the above:
3sweets + 5jellies = 3.40

3) Also given:
10sweets + 5jellies = 5.50

When 3) - 2)
There will be zero jellies left
Left 10sweets - 3sweets = 5.50 - 3.40
7sweets = 2.10
Hence, 1sweet = 2.10/7 = $0.30

Hi, just wanted to say alternatively, we can consider finding 3 sweets and 5 jellies ($3.40) which leads to same answer
7 sweets 5.50 - 3.40 = 2.10
1 sweet 2.10/7 = 0.30
