Area of rectangle = length SR x breadth RQ
= 10 units

Area of triangle D
= 1/2 x vertical height x SR = 3 units

Since area of triangle D = 3/10 of area of rectangle,

1/2 x vertical height = 3/10 of RQ

Vertical height = 6/10 of RQ = 3/5 of RQ

Since RQ = vertical height of triangle B
+ vertical height of triangle D,

Vertical height of triangle B
= 2/5 of RQ

Triangle B area = 2/5 of RQ x 1/2 x SR
= 2/10 x RQ x SR
= 1/5 x area of rectangle
= 2 units

So 58 cm² = 2 units

1 unit = 29 cm²

Rectangle area = 10 units
= 29 cm² x 10
= 290 cm²
