Convert 9y² - 24y + c into the expanded square form first.
Remember that (a - b)² = a² - 2ab + b²
so 9y² - 24y + c
= (3y)² - 2(12y) + c
= (3y)² - 2(3y)(4) + c
Compare the terms here to a² - 2ab + b².
You will realise that ,
a = 3y
b = 4
And, c = b²
So c = 4² = 16.
