Since both of them started at the same time, first determine the time taken. The total time taken for both of them are 1h 15 mins, which is 1.25 hrs.

Samad's speed is 23 km/h, distance travelled is 23 km/h × 1.25 h = 28.75 km

Ravi's speed is 16km/h, distance traveled is 16km/h × 1.25 h = 20 km

Difference in distance = 8.75 km

Alternative way, since both of them took the same amount of time, just minus their speed

(23-16) km/h × 1.25h = 8.75 km
