Gosh im so sorry but i just need some clarification . Since there are 2 4^y we group them together? And im abit confused sorry . Is it we can plus the 10+4 just like that? Cant we just multiply 10x4^y ? Is that possible? Please help and explain to me?

Oh ok. If we see (10)(4y) and we dont multiply first right ? Unless we dont see any common factor we multiply ?
