I dont get this qurstion part a ii. For the MGH, why is the the length MB taken as the H and not PB when the height of the string is 0.120. PS: Iknow I put Biology but the description of the app says it supports physics too and i cant find the physics option

to ans ur qn for part (a),
u r considering energy change from position A to position B, not from P to B.
hence, the h value in mgh is from A to B, but Only consider the vertical height change, i.e. MB, not AB, and of cuz not PB.

You must consider the vertical height difference between the starting point of the object at A, and the ending point at B.
