Hmmm... oh well. I would appreciate it if you could correct my mistakes.
Anyway, for this kind of question, you have to identify whether it is a right angle triangle.
In the case where u suspect 8cm is the hypotheneus, try to find the base and the height of that triangle first and see whether it is perpendicular with each other. If it is, then most probably you are right. If there is no such perpendicular relationship, then most probably you are wrong.
