since the cubic polynomial is a multiplication of a quadratic formula(given in question) and a linear formula(cx+constant number) , the unknown c is my linear formula's x coefficient(the number in front) .

so i know that the constant in the cubic formula is +14 and the constant in the quadratic formula is -7 , -7*-2 gives you +14, so you know the constant in your linear equation (cx-2) .

when you multiply and expand the linear and quadratic formula on the right hand side(i did not show in the working previously), you group the coefficients of x^3,x^2 and x respectively . after which , you compare the right hand side with your left hand side according to coefficient of x^3, x^2 and x separately .

hope it clarifies your doubt .
