2(a)
paper clips are magnetic or paper clips are made of magnetic materials. Hence, they are attracted to magnetised nail.
2(b)
[in the diagram, there are :
(i) 2 dry cells &
(ii) many turns of the coil around the nail. ]
Two ways are:
(i) use 1 dry cells instead of 2 dry cells
(ii) have a fewer turns of the coil around the nail.
In this way, the nail would be magnetised less strongly and hence attracts less paper clips.
