Assuming their speed were constant in that 3 hours,

Distance apart after 1 hour
= 444 km ÷ 3
= 148 km

This also means that in 1 hour, their combined travelled distance = 148 km

So one car is slower than the other car by 12 km/h. This means that in 1 hour, this car travels 12 km less that the faster car.

So 148 km - 12 km = 136 km

136 km ÷ 2 = 68 km

So the speed of the slower car is 68 km/h
