Notice that the perimeter of A is made up of 7 sides of a square and two partial sides of a square.

But, notice that the rightmost square
is joined to two other identical squares.

The length of the two partial sides is simply

= length of two sides of a square - length of a side of the rightmost square

= Length of a side of a square

So the total perimeter is actually just
(7 + 1) sides = 8 sides

8 sides = 60 cm

1 side = 60 cm ÷ 8 = 7.5 cm

So for B, its perimeter is longer by
4 sides of a square.

So perimeter of B
= 7.5 cm x 4 + 60 cm
= 30 cm + 60 cm
= 90 cm
