pt 1: metal is a good conductor of heat
(if u hv learnt this in sch, include mode of conduction involves molecular vibration and electron diffusion in metal), so it is better conductor than non-metal.
pt 2: styrofoam is a polymer(polystyrene) with pockets of trapped air within it.
polymer is a poor conductor of heat
trapped air is also a poor conductor heat and prevents convection to occur. Thus, styrofoam is poor conductor of heat.
